Missions

At Grace, we believe that sharing our resources with those who have little or none is part of being a member of the body of Christ. We faithfully attempt to make sure each and every donation is carefully followed up and used as it was intended. Each request is prayerfully considered and responded to appropriately.

Grace supports missions in three major ways:

  • Finances: Each week the congregation is encouraged to give above and beyond their regular tithe toward the needs of a particular mission outreach.
  • Prayer: Our missions initiatives are regularly lifted up in prayer by the members of our congregation, both on an individual and corporate level.
  • Physical Assistance: Adults, youth and children are encouraged to participate in annual mission trips, both locally and internationally, to share in their brain work and back work on site.

INTERNATIONAL MISSIONS

  • We support the work of New Missions in the Dominican Republic and Haiti
  • In 2007, we were excited to commission our very own full-time missionaries to administrate a clinic in the Dominican Republic
  • We currently are the sole support for a pastor in Haiti and a pastor in the Dominican Republic
  • We support John Baxter, a Bible teacher in the Philippines
  • We support L.I.F.E. International (famine relief projects)

In the Spring of 2007, we were excited to commission our very own, full-time missionaries overseas. John Hanley, along with his wife Melissa and daughter Kate, will be working with New Misisons to administrate a brand new health clinic in the Dominican Republic. Each summer, we also sponsor short-term mission trips to the D.R.

LOCAL MISSIONS

  • We support the ministry of Eagle's Wings
  • We support the Dream Center of Tampa
  • We support the Salvation Army
  • We support the Lakeland Lighthouse Mission
  • We support Vision Florida, an FCBC church planting initiative that will plant 1,000 church in the state of Florida in the next 25 years
  • We support Campus Crusade For Christ and Youth For Christ
We believe that the Word strongly encourages the church to support the poor and needy. It is for this reason that each 3rd Sunday, we set aside a special time in our service to collect an Alms Offering for the many benevolence opportunities we are privileged to support on a regular basis.
